Caramels and Sugar

Sugar. I love it. I try really really hard not to love it so much. To just sort of like it. You know, just be cool with sugar, nothing to get excited about. I've even tried the whole "if you tell yourself something enough you will eventually believe it" thing. I told myself I was an on-time health nut. I figured if I said it enough and threw in an extra "thing to believe" I could end up being both for the price of one. Just throw it out in the universe and wait for the punctuality and healthiness to start. Obviously that didn't pan out so well, or I wouldn't be doing a post on caramel holiday gifts the second week after Christmas.

These lovely little treats were one of my Christmas gifts this year, courtesy of Martha Stewart (if only it had been the actual Martha Stewart, then at least I would have gotten the on-time part done). Nothing beats making a few homemade caramels and designing candy packaging. Who needs normal interests, like skiing, gardening and scrapbooking when heaven is a little typography, a color wheel and a bit (or a lot) of sugar thrown in. In fact, I'm pretty sure heaven is made up of cotton candy and marshmallows.

PS - If you are wondering, I promise I eat healthy stuff too. I'm not a teenager who consists solely on M&M's and soda with the occasional bag of Cheetos. I don't even like Cheetos!

  1. I still can't get over how good these caramels were. And your packaging is all kinds of amazing, as usual!
